Stand Still and Watch His Glory!
Greetings family of God in the wonderful and glorious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am writing to you from our home in North Carolina where we gathered with family and friends to celebrate Christmas and pray in the coming year. Looking back at 2025, we experienced a plethora of events which possibly made some think, is God with us, or not?
Jehoshaphat had the same concern when he understood those whom God did not allow Moses to engage like many others on their trek to the Promised Land. Now these groups have risen to war against God’s people. As such, fear rippled through out Jehoshapat’s body, much like it does for many Christians faced with challenges in life today.
The thing inspiring about Jehoshaphat is, rather than drowning in a sea of tears, he proclaimed a fast and all of Judah gathered together to ask for help from the Lord (II Chronicles 20:13).
One would think that Jehoshaphat’s prayer to God was on the border of disrespect however, his speech clearly shows that he was acknowledging that God is the same God who, with a strong and mighty hand protected, delivered and led the children of Israel to the promised land, which he made a covenant with his friend, Abraham!
Once Jehoshaphat finished his prayer, confirmation came from God to remind him and all the people that in such cases when our strength is gone, fear and despair overwhelm us, knowing, that if we live a righteous life before God, He will fight our battles!
We know through events in scripture that God in no wise would have responded in the way that He did unless, the people were walking upright with God! Hence, when all Judah came to seek the Lord, it included the little ones as well, their wives and children. Unity of the Spirit was bursting forth like an untamed flowing river, and that pleased God!
What is not pleasing to God is when the Congregation and the Sanctuary become polluted and the Name of Jehovah God is used as a cover to hide our sins. I have witnessed a lot of expressions this past year and wondered, where is the heart and unity of God’s people gone? Have we cast God aside and embraced the ways of this world? God forbid.
This is a period and time much like what God’s people experienced with Jehoshaphat. As we draw near to the end of time on earth, it is apparent that our hope and trust should be in the only one who is able to keep us from falling and the only one that shall fight our battles. However, this requires going back to what matters to God, the unity of the Spirit, the fatherless, the poor, the widows and the lost. To fight for the unborn and stand by those buffed by the enemy. The task is huge and tiring, but we will go and our strength will be in the Lord.
I pray that the Pastors and those for whom God has called to lead, will lead the people of God in the strength and love of the Lord. I implore you to not give to seducing spirits. To the Elder’s, I ask that you hold the line as we face the forces which shall come! Men, lead your families as God intended! Get off the couch and get out of bed, regardless if you worked the night before, be the example to run to the House of the Lord.
Finally, as the Apostle Paul encouraged young Timothy to preach (Proclaim II Timothy 4:2) the word: I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Saints of the Highest, we are well into this period, and I encourage you to keep yourself before God in prayer and fasting. Seek those things above and lean on God’s understanding and not yours. When you’ve done those things then stand and watch the glory and salvation of the Lord.
In closing, thanks be to the God of Heaven for those at Faith on 48th who served and made events in 2025 complete. There were challenges but God saw us through. Thanks to the Elders at Faith on 48th and those special ones that did those little things in the body to mend rather than divide, thank you!
Until then, Keep the faith, trust God, and walk in the footsteps of Christ that your way is sure and founded!
